The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has organised a special nationwide and global prayer programme for peace, unity, national development and an end to the lingering insecurity confronting Nigeria.

The prayer session, held simultaneously across NASFAT’s 360 branches and locations worldwide, attracted thousands of worshippers, Islamic scholars, community leaders and members of the public who gathered to offer prayers for the nation’s stability, security and progress.

Speaking during the programme, NASFAT’s Chief Missioner, Sheikh Abdul-Azeez Morufu Onike, expressed concern over the persistent challenges of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other criminal activities affecting different parts of the country.

He urged Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to intensify prayers for the country while supporting efforts by government and security agencies to restore peace and order.

According to him, although security agencies are making efforts to address the nation’s security challenges, citizens also have a responsibility to cooperate with authorities, promote peaceful coexistence and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

Sheikh Onike stressed that Allah answers the prayers of sincere believers and encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the current challenges facing the nation.

He called on Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith, uphold righteousness and demonstrate patience, perseverance and trust in Allah at all times.

The Chief Missioner also urged Nigerians to avoid actions capable of creating division and unrest, noting that unity, mutual respect and collective responsibility remain critical to achieving sustainable peace and national development.

Also speaking, the President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulRauf, called on Nigerians to maintain a positive disposition toward the nation’s leaders and continue to pray for the country’s success and prosperity.

He said national development could be accelerated when citizens support leaders through constructive engagement, goodwill and sincere prayers.

According to him, despite the challenges confronting the country, Nigerians should remain hopeful and continue to seek divine guidance for those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.

Alhaji AbdulRauf described prayer as a powerful instrument for national transformation and urged citizens to complement their prayers with patriotism, unity and commitment to the common good.

He reaffirmed NASFAT’s commitment to promoting spiritual development, moral values, peaceful coexistence and national cohesion, describing the global prayer initiative as a demonstration of the society’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress and prosperity.

Special prayers were offered for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, state governors, lawmakers, security personnel and other public office holders across the country. Worshippers also prayed for divine wisdom, guidance and protection for all those entrusted with safeguarding lives and property.

The congregation further remembered victims of insecurity and their families, offering prayers for comfort, healing and lasting peace in affected communities.

Participants expressed optimism that sustained prayers, responsible leadership and collective efforts by citizens would help restore peace, stability and economic prosperity across the country.

They commended NASFAT for its continued commitment to spiritual upliftment, national development and the promotion of harmony among Nigerians regardless of religious, ethnic or social backgrounds.

The prayer programme concluded with fervent supplications for Allah’s mercy, protection and abundant blessings upon Nigeria, with participants leaving inspired and hopeful of a more secure, united and prosperous nation.

The initiative further reinforced NASFAT’s position as a leading Islamic organisation committed not only to spiritual growth but also to advancing peace, unity and socio-economic development in Nigeria and across the international communities where the society operates.
