Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday protested at the office of the Department of State Service (DSS) in Yola, Adamawa State capital, demanding the release of their members.

They started the protest from the state headquarters of the PDP through Justice Buba Ardo Road to the DSS office in Yola where they presented their complaint letter.

Some members of the PDP allegedly detained illegally for seven days without trial include Yusuf Mohammed, Zira John, and Solomon Abafras.

PDP state chairman, Barrister Tahir Shehu who led hundreds of protesters said the protest became necessary as their members had been in detention since last week.

Shehu said their members were detained beyond the time the constitution stipulates, stressing that their fundamental human rights had been infringed upon.
