President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their sacrifices in the fight against insecurity, assuring them that the nation does not take their service for granted.
In a message posted on his X handle on Monday, the President praised security personnel for their courage and commitment, describing them as the shield protecting Nigerians and preserving the country’s peace and stability.
Tinubu said personnel of the Armed Forces, Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), intelligence agencies and local security formations continue to make immense sacrifices to keep the country safe.
“I commend all our patriotic front-line soldiers in the fight against terrorism in all forms. You stand as a shield between innocent citizens and those who seek to destroy the peace, safety and dignity of our communities,” he said.
The President said security personnel operate under difficult conditions across forests, roads, waterways and other challenging terrains to ensure Nigerians can live, work, worship and carry out their daily activities without fear.
“This fight has not been easy. It has come with pain, pressure and sacrifice. But your courage has remained firm. Your service is acknowledged. Your sacrifice is honoured. Your country does not take you for granted,” he said.
Tinubu also paid tribute to the families of security personnel, acknowledging the emotional burden of long absences and the uncertainties associated with service.
“I also acknowledge the families behind the uniform. Many of you have endured long absences, anxious nights and the emotional cost of duty. Nigeria remembers that sacrifice, too,” he said.
The President further honoured personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, saying their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
