A business mogul and leader of the agitation for the actualization of the Middle Belt Presidency, Chief Moses Ayom, has said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has what it takes to actualize the agitation of the region after his tenure.
He also charged the APC standard bearer to sustain the Nigeria-Chinese economic ties if elected president in next month’s election, saying if maintained it will provide a partway to sustainable economic development, provides jobs and get the economy moving again.
Ayom in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally in Benue State said President Muhammadu Buhari has taken some bold steps in the economy like the signing of the business deal with Chinese firms during Buhari’s 2016 business trip to China which he said will bring a lot of jobs to the citizenry.
He also commended the Chinese government for opening up China once again to the world after the pandemic, saying that as a businessman who played key role in facilitating President Muhammadu Buhari’s economic development agreement with China, “I am confident that the APC administration under Tinubu would sustain and improve on the feat achieved by Buhari on the economy.”
Ayom a former presidential aspirant who said he stepped down for the strategic reason of creating and boosting future political opportunities for his Middlebelt Presidency agitation, specifically tasked Tinubu to ensure that all the elements in the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) signed by President Muhammadu Buhari and China in 2016 were sustained.
“As I welcome you on behalf of Benue State Business community, I am saying that we believe that a Bola Tinubu is most suitable in consolidating on the economic foundation that Buhari had laid for this country. I also know that Tinubu is a leading light in the business of attracting international investments to Nigerian.
Part of the statement said: “I have known Tinubu since the days of Iyorchia Ayu’s Senate Presidency when he, Tinubu, served as the chairman of finance, Appropriations, banking and currency of the then Senate. Tinubu has all it takes to rule this country because he has paid his dues as a leader of the party.”
Ayom submitted that he had followed Tinubu and studied him and I am full of hopes that he will give the middle belt a good deal adding that “a vote for Bola Tinubu is a great step to Middle belt presidency.”
