Reason for creation of man and jinn: Allah says in the the Noble Qur’an, ”And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.” (Zariyah, 56-58). In another ayat Allah says, “And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], “Worship Allah and avoid Taghut.” (Nahli, 36). The meaning of (Taghut) ‘dagutu’ is any thing that is worshipped other than Allah, such as the angels or prophets or jinn,  saint or the righteous etc.
In another ayat, Allah says, “And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], “uff,” and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. “(Isra’i, 23)
Also, Allah says in another ayat, “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbour, the neighbour farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful. (Nisa’i, 36).
Allah further said in His Book: “Say, “Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason.”
“And do not approach the orphan’s property except in a way that is best until he reaches maturity. And give full measure and weight in justice. We do not charge any soul except [with that within] its capacity. And when you testify, be just, even if [it concerns] a near relative. And the covenant of Allah fulfill. This has He instructed you that you may remember.
“And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.“ (An’am, 151-153).
It has been related from the Prophet (pbuh) that he drew amulets on his right hand side and did the same on the left. Then he drew a long line in the middle and pointed at it and said, “This is my path that is straight follow it (ie the Qur’an and the Hadith). But do not follow those other ways for they will lead you to destruction (ie divisions).
It has been related from Ibn Mas’ud who said: “Anyone who wishes to see the bequest of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with he departed this world, he should read the ayat in which Allah said, “Say, “Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him”…..up to where he said, “this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way.“ (An’am, 151-153).
A hadith has been narrated from Mu’azu Ibn Jabal (RA) where he said: “One day we were with the Prophet (pbuh) riding on a donkey and he said, ‘Mu’azu do you know the right of Allah on his slaves, and do you know the right of the slave on Allah?’  Mu’azu said, “Allah and His Messenger alone know.” The Prophet then said ‘then let me tell you the right of Allah on His slaves. They should worship Him alone without attributing to Him any partner. And the right of the slave with Allah is Allah has promised He will not burn him who did not associate a partner to Him.’ There and then Mu’azu said to the Prophet “O Messenger of Allah, I have given such good tidings to the people.” But the Prophet said to him, “No don’t do that lest the people refuse to carry out their duties and rely on that.” (Related by Bukhari and Muslim)
The benefits of tauhid and what erases sin: Allah says: “And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah , so will you not reason?.“ (An’am, 32). One of the Companions, Ubadata ibn Samit (RA) said: “The Prophet (pbuh) said: “anyone who believes that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, that He is One and has no associate and Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger and accepts that Prophet Isa is His slave and messenger, and that he is a kalimah (expression) that was implanted in Maryam’s womb (the meaning of kalimah is ‘Kum Fa Yakun’), and the Prophet Isa is a soul from Him (the meaning of soul is that it is from the souls that Allah places in His slaves). Then a person believes that Aljannah is true and Hell fire is true, for such a person Allah has promised Aljannah proportionate to his deeds.”  (Bukhari and Muslim related this)
But Itban said the Prophet said: “Anyone that utters ‘La’ilaha illal-lah’ and does not retract from it, and seeks Allah’s trust with it, then Allah will make it haram (forbidden) upon the Hell fire to burn him.” And what Abi Sa’idul Khudri said was that the “Prophet related how Prophet Musa (SA) once said: “O My Lord, I want You to give me a special du’a with which I will call upon You and supplicate to You.” Allah said, “So shall it be yet ‘La’ilaha illal-lahu’, if the seven heavens and what’s therein and the seven earths will all be placed on one side of the scale, then ‘La’ilaha illal-lahu’ be placed on the other, it will outweigh them all,” (Ibn Hibba and Hakim related this). They also said the hadith is Sahih.
But Imam Tirmidhi said he heard from Anas that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “Allah said in Hadith Kudusi, “O Son of Adam were you to come to me with sin as much as the earth, but come without having committed shirk I will present you with forgiveness equal in proportion to this.”
