The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), will host the most anticipated Media and Development Conference 2023 (#MDC23).
Set to take place from November 13 to 15, 2023 in Abuja, Nigeria, the media and development conference is themed “Bridging Democracy, Development, Innovation, and Media Sustainability in West Africa.”
The conference is aimed to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including media professionals, academia, donor agencies, policymakers, and tech innovators, to address critical issues related to media, democracy, and sustainable development in West Africa.
Journalists and media practitioners from across African countries will participate from the print, radio; social media and TV are expected to attend the conference which will be in-person.
It will foster discussions on media innovations, technological advancements, and tools aimed at bolstering the media profession while addressing its sustainability challenges, the organisers said.
The conference is also expected to draw educative presentations from notable experts who will explore how emerging technologies, such as AI and digital disruption, present opportunities and challenges for the future of democracy in Africa.
