The teams are on dispute resolution, corporate head office, contracts and partnerships, assets and liabilities as well as income generation.
Others are securing and perfecting titles to the authority’s landholdings, special intervention, new projects as well as corporate governance and career issues.
Inaugurating the teams at the authority’s headquarters in Abuja, Prof. Al-Amin said the authority’s interim management team decided on the initiative as a way to generate quick action to prove to all that FHA is a viable national institution.
He said wide ranging consultations had been carried out and that management came to the conclusion that it needed to get out of the box in order to achieve its mandate within the timeline given to it by government.
The FHA chief executive said although the existing organogram for the authority will be retained, the task teams will be used as intervention structure to achieve set goals.
He praised the Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE) for coming up with the reform document for the authority which he said was accompanied with a good implementation mechanism.
Al-Amin said his management team is of the view that members of staff, as critical stakeholders, could drive the reform agenda adding that all assignments envisaged in the reform document had been broken into assignments for the various task teams to implement.
In doing that, he said management expected that the staff would seize the opportunity to send a strong message to the nation that they could do it.
He said each of the teams was being given a timeline for its assignment and that the members would articulate deliverables and their key performance indicators.
In a vote of thanks, the Executive Director, Business Development, Mr. Aniedi Akpabio thanked the Managing Director for the opportunity given them to serve on the various teams.
He assured the chief executive of the commitment and dedication of the members in working towards the realization of his dreams for the housing authority.
