No political party in Nigeria has 15m members — APGA chair

One of the sacked factional Chairmen of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Victor Ike Oye

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Victor Oye, has said that Nigerians should ignore some of the nation’s political parties’ claim of 15 million members.

Oye said this at the weekend in Abuja during a press conference on the state of the nation and affairs of the party ahead of the 2023 elections.

He said that such a claim was fallacious and that political parties claiming to have as many as 15 million card-carrying members was impossible.

He noted that APGA had over 1.5 million registered members and that the party was made up of honest people who didn’t bandy figures about.

He said, “I can tell you that no political party in Nigeria has 15 million members. Show me the evidence. It’s not possible. By the way, I have 1.5 million members. Do you know the admirers, the supporters of the party? That is how elections are won.”
