Ace radio presenter and Governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Kwara State chapter, Taofeek Olu Amusan, has explained why he embraced Islam.

Formerly known as Ezekiah Olu Amusan Egunjobi, the Kwara TAMPAN boss said he was not forced but embraced Islam of his own volition.

He stated this at the launch of his album titled “Confirmation” held in Ilọrin, Kwara State.

He said he was convinced to worship Almighty Allah because it became clear to him that the Islamic religion was the way to salvation.

“I was not forced but embraced Islam of my own volition. When I made my decision about this plan, I didn’t discuss it with anyone close to me. It was my sole decision to worship Allah.

“I became convinced that Islam is the way to salvation with my experience during a recent pilgrimage I had. It was so glaring what I saw during that pilgrimage that I was not going to make a wrong decision,” he said.

In his sermon, an Ilorin-based Islamic scholar, Ustadh Mudathir Maikudi, urged the new convert to be mindful of his conduct.

Born into masquerade lineage in Gbongan, Osun State, Amusan was a traditionalist before embracing Christianity until his new Islamic faith.
