Women have been urged to support and work collectively to achieve the Each for Equal theme of the International Women’s Day celebration.

The National Vice President, Necas Network of Entrepreneurial Women, (NNEW), Mrs Ekaette Umoh, stated this during a workshop to mark the International Women’s Day which was held in Abuja.

“The International Women’s Day was tagged, Each for Equal, so we thought we should come together and look at the theme. The message is that we should support each other. When we do, we are invariably helping ourselves. With the synergy in energy, we achieve a lot more,” she said.

The Guest Speaker and a seasoned entrepreneur, Hajiya Samira Jibir, said women should use their enormous talents to build one another and the nation.

“What is remaining for women to make Each for Equal is to help one another, build one another, impact on one another, and take up that role of motherhood and as a nation builder.  We are losing that fast by not building our children. We need to start looking at that to bring up our children for sustainability.” Jibir said.

The Chair of the organising committee of the programme, Mrs Jacquelyn Olua (Barr.) said to help achieve the Each for Equal goal, parents should give their girls and boys equal duties at home.

The event which featured exhibitions and a drama presentation showcased how women could excel in different tasks if given the opportunity to do so.
