A passenger died while six others sustained injuries in an accident, which occurred on Thursday at Gada-Biyu along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
A witness said the incident involved an unmarked J5 Peugeot bus which crashed into a ditch after a tyre bust.
He said one of the passengers died on the spot, while other occupants sustained injuries and were rushed to Abaji General Hospital by the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abaji.
An official of the FRSC, who was part of the rescue but preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident, which he attributed to over speeding and tyre bust.

He said one person died while six others sustained injuries and were taken to Abaji General Hospital for treatment while the corpse was deposited at the same hospital’s morgue.
Our reporter, who was at the hospital, saw when the FRSC officials brought the victims to the emergency unit of the hospital.
