One person has reportedly died during a cult initiation ceremony in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The incident occurred over the weekend, reportedly following repeated physical drills during the initiation process.
The deceased, identified as Prosper, had allegedly expressed interest in joining the Aye confraternity and approached a family member, Cosmos, who is believed to be a senior member of the group.
Cosmos reportedly connected him with other members and did not attend the initiation himself. However, tragedy struck when Prosper allegedly collapsed and died during the process.

According to sources, the cultists later informed Cosmos that Prosper had fainted after consuming hard drugs before the initiation.
Confirming the incident, Edo State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, said one suspect has been arrested in connection with the case.
He said the deceased slumped during the initiation and was rushed to a hospital in Jattu, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
