At least one person died, 18 kidnapped, while many others sustained various degrees of injury when bandits attacked the people of Kapana in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to sources, the bandits stormed the community Tuesday night, shooting sporadically.

Daily Trust gathered that residents of the affected village and surrounding communities have relocated to other places.
The member representing Munya constituency in the state House of Assembly, Andrew Danjuma Jagaba, who confirmed the incident, called on the government to beef up security in the area to forestall further attack.
He also called on the people to be calm, assuring swift action from the government.
The police public relations officer in the state, Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached for a reaction at the time of filing this report.
