A 35-year-old man, Usman Mohammed, has been confirmed dead following a conflict between farmers and herders at Chikuriwa village in Nangere LGA of Yobe State.
The dispute reportedly broke out after an unidentified herder allegedly entered a farmer’s land with his animals, leading to a violent clash between the two groups.
During the confrontation, the farmer, Babayo Maina Osi, was allegedly shot on the forehead with an arrow and he sustained injuries.
Our correspondent further learnt that in the ensuing fight, another farmer, Usman Mohammad (35) was shot with an arrow and later confirmed dead at the General Hospital in Nangere.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident but said normalcy had been restored after security personnel intervened.
