There were 18 people in the commercial bus, while the car had two occupants. The Osun State Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi, who was at the scene of the accident immediately it happened, directed that the injured persons should immediately be taken to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
Daily Trust learnt that the medical bills of the injured persons were settled on the account of the Deputy Governor, who led the state ambulance that conveyed them to the hospital.
Alabi, who described the incident as “unfortunate and avoidable,” said the accident would have been prevented if traffic rules were strictly obeyed.
