Ten more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria, bringing the country’s burden of coronavirus infections to a total 22.
Three of the 10 new cases are in Abuja, the country’s capital.
The other seven are in Lagos.
Nine of the new 10 infections had “have travel history outside Nigeria in the last one week,” the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said in a tweet.

The 10th case is a close contact of a patient confirmed positive for Covid-19.
Nigeria’s index case for Covid-19—the Italian who had travelled to Ogun after flying into Lagos—and a second patient have recovered and have been discharged from hospital.
The 10 newly infected people are said to have “mild to moderate” symptoms.
The three in Abuja have been hospitalised at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada while the seven new cases in Lagos are being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
Officials are tracing all who have been in contact with the 10 newly infected individuals, the federal health ministry announced in a statement.
“The Port Health Services of the Federal Ministry of Health has heightened screening at all air, land and sea points of entry into Nigeria and adapted the protocols to reflect the travel guidance issued by the Presidential Task Force on the Control of Coronavirus,” it said.
