No fewer than 100 investors and exhibitors from 15 countries will attend the 10th edition of the agrofood and plastpintpack event, billed to March 25-27 in Lagos.

According to Freyja Detjen, Senior Project Manager at Fairtrade Messe, the international trade show and conference will focus on agro-processing, technology, and packaging, saying it is aimed at fostering innovation, industry development, and local production in Nigeria.

“It is an international trade show and conference and it is addressing the agro life processing and the technology as well as the packaging industry and brings together the players of the industry to discuss, innovate, and develop for Nigeria.

“Many believe they must go abroad to find international solutions, but the goal of Agrofood Nigeria is to connect experts and solutions within the country, for the country, ”she said.

The Chairman, Local organising partner, Odion Aleobua emphasised Lagos’ role as a commercial hub, noting that the platform will attract economic leaders from participating countries.

“These stakeholders are coming not just to do business but to create real value. Their presence reflects confidence in our economy, and as they find the right partners, we will see investments materialize, innovations emerge, and global best practices implemented locally,” he said.

He added that the 10th-anniversary edition will be headlined by Germany, with countries such as South Africa, Italy, China, and the Netherlands also participating, adding that sub-national entities, including Lagos State and other agro-focused states, will also be represented.

“What that means is the confidence that it shows in our economy and when these people find the right partners, we are going to see investments crystallize, innovation to take place in large space and I think that is valuable when you connect global best practices that you can take away.

“The world is a collection. We can just exist without borrowing initiatives and innovations. What this platform does is that it brings businesses around the world and allows them to mix with Nigeria and allow commerce to boost,” he said.
