The workshop was aimed at training 100 volunteers from five local government areas so that after the training they would have the knowledge that when they go back to the community they would exhibit what they have learned in the workshop.

Dr Kunle stated that in Nigeria there was a suspected case of the influenza which had not been confirmed. But places like the United State of America, Mexico, Ghana and Ivory Coast have had confirmed cases.

He also said that two confirmed cases of H1N1 had been recorded among pilgrims recently in Saudi Arabia, adding that many nations had their contingence in Saudi.

He explained that the mode of the spread of the virus was by contact. According to him there was a strong need for the communities to be fully equipped with preventive knowledge of the H1N1 virus.

One of the volunteers in the workshop, Malam Lawan Bashir, said that, he had learnt from the workshop that people should always wash their hands with soap and water whenever they touch anything.
