The construction of a 1000 housing units for civil servants in the state would soon commence on the Isiagu site in Awka South Local government of the state, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has said. 
Obiano who disclosed this during the 2016 African Public Service Day Celebration in Awka,  said that the contractor handling the project has assured  that at least 200 housing units will be completed within one year. 
He further revealed that all outstanding payments hindering the commencement of the project has been offset by his government.
Reassuring the workers that their welfare remains a frontline charge for his administration, the governor underscored the need for the civil servants to be acquainted with the development agenda of the government they serve.
