The Kano State Police Command has announced the conviction of 106 thugs and the remand of 43 others for serious offences during operations conducted between June 24 and July 4, 2024.
In a press release signed by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer, it was stated that the suspects were arraigned in various courts across the state. Those convicted received sentences without the option of a fine, while trials for the 43 suspects involved in crimes such as culpable homicide, kidnapping, armed robbery, and causing grievous harm are ongoing.

Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba expressed appreciation to the judiciary for their role in achieving these convictions. He also called on the public to collaborate with the police to ensure safety and security for all residents in Kano State.
