120 teachers get UNESCO, Microsoft IT certification

The teachers are undergoing rigorous training for four weeks at New Horizons in Lagos, where they will also sit for the international certification online to test their competencies in all areas based on the examination body.
They will, thereafter, be certified as Microsoft Certified Educators (MCE) and Internet and Computing Core Certified (IC3) professionals.
Mrs. Clementina Doregos, proprietress of the two schools said the training will aid them to be on same level with what is obtainable abroad.
She explained that her visit to top schools in USA and UK where teachers and students are collaborating, innovating and solving problem in classroom in real time shows that teaching has gone beyond didactic method of training to collaborative method where teachers and students share knowledge real time in classroom with the use of technology.
