Jonathan: Presidents do better in second term

He was speaking at Chari Maigumeri in Lokoja, Kogi State  yesterday in a meeting with the state council of traditional rulers.
Jonathan who was in Lokoja for his re-election campaign rally, said presidents often perform better in their second term because they are more stable and able to settle down to plan. The president assured the traditional rulers that he would also perform better in the next four years if re-elected.
He told the royal fathers that he would continue to work with the Kogi State government to develop the state and if re-elected, he would pay more attention to the Ajaokuta Steel Company by incorporating the steel into the country’s rail system.
Jonathan assured them that in the wake of the dwindling crude oil revenue, his government would continue to fast-track the development of solid minerals and agriculture.
The Attah Igala, Idakwo Michael Oboni II, who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers, told the president to go ahead with his administration’s projects, promising that the people of the state would continue to support him. In his remarks, Governor Idris Wada noted that traditional rulers in the state had always supported Jonathan’s administration’s transformation agenda.
