At least 13 Kano indigenes will benefit from the Aminu Kano Foundation scholarship scheme this year, the National Coordinator of the organization, Malam Ibrahim Waiya has said.

Addressing newsmen on the scholarship scheme, Waiya said over 50 students sat for the in-house interview conducted by the foundation to select  successful students for study sponsorship at ISCOM University in Benin Republic.

Waiya explained that the scholarship would help the successful students boost their academic prospects and utilize their potentials in developing northern Nigeria in particular and the nation in general.

He stated that the foundation noted with concern how northern region was lagging behind in the area of education, affirming that the foundation was determined towards bridging the academic gap. 

He said, “The scholarship will be extended to other states to enable their students also benefit. I am appealing to Kano indigenes to avail themselves of the opportunity. We are into partnership with the management of the ISCOM University on sending Nigerian students to study there”.
