The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition which began on Thursday is holding at the Jabi Lake Dam’s Park and Garden.

Teams eliminated from the male competition of the tour include Life Camp, Kogi, Urban Shelter, Nigeria Prisons and Ondo.

Life Camp had ended 17th in the competition after they lost 1-2 to Gombe in their classification match, while Kogi finished 16th after they lost 0-2 to Urban Shelter.

Urban Shelter lost 0-2 to Karu to place 15th, while the Nigerian Prisons lost 0-2 to the Nigerian Army to place 14th and Ondo finished 13th after a 0-2 loss to Garden.

From matches played on Friday in the female competition, Akwa Ibom, Nigerian Prisons, Kogi, Life Camp, Scorpion and Karu were all eliminated from the race for honours.

Kogi which lost to Adamawa had beaten Akwa Ibom 2-0 to place 13th, two steps above their victims who finished 15th.

Nigerian Prisons lost 0-2 to Defence to finish 14th while Life Camp lost to Benue 0-2 to end up in the 12th position.

Scorpion lost 1-2 to Niger to finish 11th, while Karu lost to the Nigerian Army 0-2 to finish 10th.

The competition continues on Saturday with matches from the quarter-finals stage early in the day and the closing ceremony later in the day.

NAN reports that the competition which is being sponsored by Samsung Electronics is being organised by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation. (NAN)
