Yusuf Isma’il, a primary five pupil of Fagge Model Primary School, has emerged the overall winner at the just concluded Kano Indomie Story Telling Competition, organized by Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie instant noodles.
Speaking during the event, Indomie Marketing Strategist Pan Nigeria, Mr Ashish Ranjan, said the management of the company had noticed with dismay the way people were drifting away from some aspect of the their cultural heritage, adding that the decision to hold the story telling competition was an attempt to revive the culture of folklores as a way of educating the young ones to understand their culture.
About 25 primary schools participated in the competition where the best 10 were selected and later reduced to five and three respectively.
Fagge Model Primary School emerged the overall winner of the competition through the brilliant performance of their pupil Yusuf Ismail. Hausawa Model Primary School came second and Race Course Model Primary School came third. Each was given a Desktop computer and undisclosed amount of money.
“We are promoting the culture and other good virtues of societal development,” Ranjan said.
