14 injured as Molue plunges into river

Information gathered at the scene of the Thursday’s accident revealed that the driver of the vehicle was said to be over speeding when suddenly, the steering removed while all attempts to salvage the situation eventually drove the vehicle into a ditch close to the Majidun River extension.

Speaking to Sunday Trust, some of the passengers on board of the vehicle who narrated their experience, said it was the intervention of God that saved them from falling into the river very close to the scene of the event.

However, an official of LASTMAN, Mr Ayeni Adebayo Rasaki, who witnessed the accident said he observed the reckless driving of the bus driver while patrolling the road for his normal daily duty.

Speaking further, he remarked that 14 people sustained minor injuries, two others got fractures on legs while the remaining passengers who were not injured boarded another vehicles to continue their journey.

The victims were given First Aid treatment before being transferred to Ikorodu General Hospital for further treatment by the officers of the Lagos State Ambulance Bus (LAAMBUS)
