A 14-year-old boy, whose name is yet to be ascertained, has allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl in Edo State.

It was gathered that the incident happened in the Sobe community in Owan West LGA of the state.

It was further learnt that the suspect, who is also a minor, lured the victim into his house and had canal knowledge of her.

It was also gathered that the suspect was arrested by the police following a report by the father of the victim.

The father of the victim was said to have later gone to the police to withdraw the matter, saying after due dialogue with the boy’s father, they decided to settle with the family at home.

But the case was said to have been transferred to the state police headquarters for investigation.

The Edo State Command’s spokesperson, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident when contacted, saying the matter has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for investigation
