One hundred and forty Nigerian youths have benefited from an agricultural training on organic farming.

They were trained in two batches; from which 70 youths have already benefitted, received starter packs and extra N100,000 to help them source for lands, equipment and to form cooperative societies.

Shepherd Ibinabo Michael West disclosed this in Calabar at the beginning of a one-week annual convention of Brotherhood All Youths Assembly (BAYA), where no fewer than 6,000 youths participated in different sports and competitions.

He said the second batch of 70 would be selected today (September 19, 2021) and their training would basically focus on agric education.

Speaking through the spokesman of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Patriarch Archibong Edet, he said the trainees were selected from ten states, adding that they were trained in fish hatching and rearing, mushroom, pepper, okro and tomatoes cropping, among others.
