Fifteen individuals and five organizations were found outstanding and awarded the National Productivity merit award organized by the National Productivity Centre (NPC), an agency under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Chairman of the award committee, Barrister Ikechi Uko  disclosed this  at the 16th National Productivity Day (NPD) and conferment of the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM)  award to deserving Nigerians held in Abuja, Thursday. 

He said that the award committee was made up of distinguished Nigerians with impeccable character from diverse background who screened all the selected organizations and individuals.

He said that the award was designed to promote competitiveness, thereby enhancing productivity in both public and private sectors.

 He, however, said  it was regrettable that state governments , ministries’, departments and agencies and the organized sector have not shown sufficient interest through early submission of their nomination forms to allow enough time for screening and assessment of the nominees.
