A 15-month-old baby and three others have died in an accident in Bauchi State along the Jos-Bauchi highway.

In a statement DSP Haruna Mohammed, spokesperson of Bauchi State Police Command,

He said that the accident involved a fully loaded Red DAF Truck with REG number XA 149 PKM, pedestrians.

According to him, the driver of the truck lost control at Narabi town hitting Four other vehicles and knocked down some pedestrians as a result 12 victims sustained various degrees of injuries.

DSP Haruna stated that Police Patrol teams attached to Toro division visited the scene and rushed Casualties to Toro General hospital for treatment where four victims including two women pedestrians and a15 months old baby and one passenger were certified dead.

Among the dead:

Amina Mohammed of Jingre ward in Kaduna State , 47

Ummi Ibrahim, 18

Nahemia Lamiri, 18, of Potiskum

An unidentified 15-month-old baby.

DSP Haruna added that three corpses have been released to their relatives for burial after postmortem examinations while eight others injured are responding to treatment.
