No fewer than 1,576 students will graduate from Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State, during its 6th convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 15.

Addressing journalists ahead of the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Kuje Ayuba, said the ceremony will mark another milestone in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence and character development.
Giving a detailed breakdown, Professor Ayuba revealed that 1,116 students from the university’s undergraduate programmes had been found worthy in character and learning to receive their degrees.

Among them, 82 students will graduate with First Class Honours, 464 with Second Class Upper Division, 260 with Second Class Lower Division, 40 with Third Class, and two with Pass degrees.
In addition, 268 students from the professional programmes—including Medicine and Pharmacy—will be awarded unclassified degrees in recognition of the specialised nature of their disciplines.

At the postgraduate level, the Vice-Chancellor announced that 460 students will receive advanced degrees across various fields. These include 44 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, 158 Academic Master’s degrees, 200 Professional Master’s degrees, and 58 Postgraduate Diplomas.

Professor Ayuba described the forthcoming convocation as a celebration of resilience and achievement, noting that the graduating students had demonstrated exceptional commitment to academic excellence and moral integrity despite challenges in the nation’s education sector.
Prof. Ayuba noted that the convocation would also commemorate the university’s 20th anniversary, describing it as a celebration of two decades of commitment to educational excellence, spiritual development, institutional growth, and societal impact.
He added that in line with the university’s commitment to efficient service delivery, graduates’ certificates will be ready for collection immediately after the ceremony.

“We congratulate all graduands on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Council, Management, Senate, staff, and stakeholders of the university,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to sustain its tradition of providing quality education anchored on discipline, faith, and service to humanity.
