Sixteen clubs have confirmed their participation in this year’s preseason football tournament jointly sponsored by the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau and the Chairman of Kano State FA, Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa “Alhan”.
The 2025 edition of the competition will kick off on Friday, August1 at the Lafia Township Stadium in Nasarawa State.
According to the statement by the Media Coordinator, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, the 16 teams made up of NPFL, NNL and amateur clubs in the country have expressed readiness to tread tackles in the pre-season competition.
The Tournament Coordinator, Abahurai Dahiru also confirmed that Lafia based clubs Nassarawa United and NNL side Basira were already on ground to welcome the remaining 14 clubs.

The rest of the teams are expected to arrive in Lafia latest Thursday, July 31.
Meanwhile, the Tournament Coordinator said the draws for highly-anticipated competition will be held at the Secretariat of Nasarawa State Football Association in Lafia.
He also said the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule will perform the ceremonial kick-off of the tournament.
Abahuraira maintained that Governor Sule would be joined by “Prominent members of the Nigerian football fraternity, which includes president of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, NFF Executive Committee members, state FA chairmen, among others.”
The Coordinator assured the teeming fans of the clubs that everything has been put in place for them to have a memorable experience in Lafia.
