160 children of civil servants get N5million IT scholarship

The Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) has said an IT firm, HIIT Plc has granted N5million worth of Information Technology scholarship to about 160 children of the institute’s staff.
The Administrator/CEO of PSIN, Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, who announced in a statement at the weekend, said the scholarship is a kind of ‘catching them young’ and helping to build the capacity of participants in Information Technology to enable them have a solid base to launch them into the technology-driven age.
He said it would also afford the new generation an opportunity to smoothly key into the e-government policy of the Federal Government.
He said the PSIN is also collaborating with HIIT Plc to expand its ICT scope to meet the present day ICT needs in the Public Service.
‘’In line with the transformation process of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation as contained in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP), the PSIN is repositioning to key into the transformation process and play a leading role in the achievement of the Strategic Plan of the Head of Service,” Dr. Obatoyinbo said.
