A recent report from the McKinsey Global Institute has highlighted a fascinating landscape of emerging industries poised to reshape the Nigerian and global economies next year.
Titled, “The Next Big Arenas of Competition,” the report identified 18 sectors that could generate an astounding $29 trillion to $48 trillion in revenues by 2040.
The report listed E-commerce, Artificial Intelligence Software and Services, Cloud Services, Electric Vehicles, Digital Advertising, Semiconductors, Shared Autonomous Vehicles, Space Exploration, Cyber security, Batteries, Modular Construction, Streaming Videos and Video Games.
Others are Robotics, Industrial and Consumer Biotechnology, Future Air Mobility, Drugs for Obesity and Related Conditions and Nuclear Fission Power Plants.
Speaking with Daily Trust on the McKeysey projection, an IT expert, Abdullateef Mutiu Jagun, said the sectors mentioned were defined by two key characteristics: high growth potential and significant dynamism.
