The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has said that there are 180 international passports yet to be collected in its Ilorin office.
The NIS controller in Kwara, Mr Aminu Shamsudin, disclosed this during a chat with newsmen on Friday in Ilorin.
According to him, most of the yet-to-be-collected passports are owned by people who reside outside Kwara.
“Some people are so busy that they prefer to send proxies which is not allowed because of the importance of the document.

“All applicants of international passports must apply by themselves, to prevent spelling errors and they must be present for biometric capturing and collection.
“The whole procedure has changed, it now requires applying online, through the immigration website and visitation to the state office for capturing and collection,” he added.
He said all those affected have been contacted through the phone numbers they filled in their application forms.
