A ghastly car accident claimed 19 lives with 38 sustaining various degrees of injury in Katsina yesterday.

The crash occurred along the Daudawa-Funtua road in Faskari Local Government Area of the state when a Mitsubishi Canter carrying over 50 persons skidded off the road and overturned.

The state spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Abdullahi Ibrahim, said the victims’ bodies the injured were taken to the Funtua General Hospital.

The driver of the Canter with registration number DKA 654 ZAP lost control as a result of fatigue.
