Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has commenced preparations towards securing the state during the forthcoming local government election in the state.
To this end, it says about 1,950 officers and men of the command are being mobilised to ensure peaceful conduct of the election.
The commandant of the corps, Mr George U. Edem, told Daily Trust on Tuesday that the command held an emergency meeting with all the area commanders, divisional officers and heads of department on Monday in Minna on the matter.
