A first-class Chemistry graduate of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, (UDUS), Stella Emelife Chinello, has broken a 100-year old record set at Mysore University, India.
Stella was decorated with 20 gold medals and five cash prize awards at the 99th convocation ceremony of the university.
She emerged the best graduating student, the UDUS Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, disclosed yesterday. He was speaking at the joint 35th, 36th and 37th convocation of the university for the 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 academic sessions.
Zuru said of the 12,282 graduates for the three academic sessions, over 100 graduated with first class degrees.
He noted that Abdullahi Zainab Bashir from Katsina State, who graduated with a CPGA of 4.81 in the 2017/2018 academic session, emerged the first female first class graduate in Physics.
