2 arraigned for stealing N40.8m petrol

The police, on Wednesday, charged two men in an Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan over allegedly stealing petrol valued at N40.8 million.

The defendants, Adetunji Abiodun (48) and Olatunji Usman (25), both petrol attendants, faced a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Ibrahim Sikiru, told the court that the defendants conspired with others (now at large) and stole 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, valued at N40.8m, belonging to Gastab Global Haulage Nig. Ltd. contrary to Sections 390 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)

The Magistrate, Mr. M. Mudashiru, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N5m each, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned to February 12, 2026. (NAN)
