2 arraigned over fraud in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two men, Adebimpe Arowosegbe (46) and Oguntuase Sunday (40), in a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged fraud and unlawful withdrawal of cash.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the suspects and others at large on April 3, in the Ajilosun area in Ado-Ekiti, fraudulently and unlawfully withdrew the sum of N400,000.00 from the bank account of one Adepoju Kemi.

The prosecutor added that Oguntuase and one other at large on the same date, time and place, fraudulently and unlawfully withdrew the sum of N102,500.00 from the bank account of Adepoju Kemi.

Inspector Oriyomi said both defendants and one other at large on the same date, time and place, did conduct themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace.

The prosecutor said the offences contradicted Sections 421, 295(1)(a)(b)(2)(a)(b)301 and 181(d) Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Joy Raphael, urged the court to grant bail to them.

The magistrate granted them bail in the sum of N250,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to September 3.
