Detectives from the Okokomaiko Police Station of the Lagos State Command have arrested two men, Augustine Egemoye (60) and Innocent Eremosele (35), for being allegedly involved with a syndicate that sells expired drugs.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said at about 6pm on Saturday a patrol team stopped and searched a Volkswagen LT bus at Afromedia and found in the bus driven by the suspects 70 cartons of Feed Fine Cyproheptadine caplets and that all had expiry date of 2016.
He added that, “The two confessed they were taking the expired drugs to somebody in Alaba who would help change the expiry dates and thereafter proceed with the drugs to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
“They confessed that they intended to sell the expired drugs in Port Harcourt. Suspects, drug and vehicle are currently in custody.
“Efforts are on to arrest the owner of the drugs, the individual altering expiry dates and other indicted persons.”
