2 arrested over cables theft in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Yahaya Mustapha, (28) and Bello Yakubu (38), both residents of Takari Ward in Gashua, of Bade Local Government Area of the state for stealing electric cables.

The state Police Public Relations Officer,SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Damaturu.

He said the operatives of the commandcaught the suspects at about 1pm, loading a large quantity of dismantled power transmission cables into a tricycle in Waro village, Karasuwa LGA.

According to him, the command is investigating the suspects and working to identify the source and perpetrators of the vandalism.
