Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged killing of a police officer attached to an expatriate in Benin City, Edo State.
The incident occurred on First East Circular Road, Benin, when suspected armed robbers ambushed and killed police orderly attached to an expatriate.
The officer, identified as Sergeant Aminu Yusuf, was reportedly escorting a vehicle after they had made a withdrawal from a bank when he was killed.
Sources say that shortly after exiting the bank, four armed men opened fire on them, killing the officer and making away with his AK-47 rifle.
The officer was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a doctor.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, said police have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of the officer and have commenced a manhunt for other suspects.
