Operatives of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested two men found with over N11 million suspected to be ransom proceeds while riding on an okada in Share, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, Suleiman Jamiu and Mumini Mohammed, were intercepted during a routine patrol by police, vigilantes, and local hunters. They were carrying a bag on the motorcycle, which upon search, was found to contain N11,363,500 in cash.

One of the suspects on watchlist, Suleiman Jamiu, was later identified as a person of interest in a kidnapping case reported in February where N20 million ransom was demanded.

Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, said the recovered cash is suspected to be proceeds of kidnapping, adding that investigations are ongoing to trace accomplices.
