Two suspected motorcycle thieves have been burnt alive in the Gudaba suburb of Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Ishaku Dogo, said the incident happened on Monday around 11am when the two suspects were apprehended after they allegedly stole a motorcycle.
He said, “And as luck ran out on them, they fell to the ground as they were speeding off, and they were apprehended by some Okada riders that gave them a hot chase.”
He further said people, mostly youths, immediately emerged with stones and planks, hitting the suspects to a pulp, and that one of the youths brought petrol and poured it on them before setting fire on them.

He noted that there was no security presence when the incident happened, and that some Good Samaritans who tried to rescue the suspects in order to hand them over to the security agents were resisted by the mob.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, said the command was not aware of the incident.
