Vigilantes have arrested two men for allegedly trying to exhume a corpse from a grave in Rafin-Daji community in Gurdi ward of Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
One of the vigilantes, Ishaku Hussaini, who confirmed the incident to our reporter on Wednesday, said it happened on Tuesday.
He said the two suspects were arrested around 6:45pm while digging a grave, where a corpse was buried on Saturday in the village.
He said a member of the community, identified as Usman, who was returning from the farm, sighted the suspects, who took off when they noticed his presence.

He said the villager moved towards the grave and discovered that part of it was dug, adding that he immediately alerted members of the community, who mobilised the vigilantes to go after the suspects.
According to him, the suspects who had earlier abandoned their motorcycle at the graveyard, were later arrested near neighbouring Dogon-Ruwa community by some members of the vigilantes in the area.
He said the suspects, who confessed to be from Kuti community in Lapai LGA of Niger State, were later taken back to the village head of the community, who handed them over to security operatives in Lambata.
He disclosed that the village chief later mobilised some members of the community to repair the grave.
The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, SP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
