The police in Lagos have arraigned two men before a magistrate court sitting in Ogba over forgery and impersonation.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Ejigbo Innocent, said the accused conspired to deceive the South African embassy by forging a signature on a letter-headed document which was submitted to the South Africa embassy.

According to the police, the accused committed the offence on October 13, 2017 at Friesland Compana along Acme road, Ogba in Lagos.

Ejigbo further explained that the accused falsely presented themselves as the General Manager of Friesland Compana instead of machine operators.

He also added that the offences were contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law Cap C17, Vol 3 and 467, Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge levelled against them.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.A Raji granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties each in like sum.

She then adjourned the case til December, 6, 2017.
