2 charged over N13.8m fraud in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State Command have arraigned one Ogunmola Seun Alabama, 44, at the Chief Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged obtaining money under false pretense.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant between January 2024 to 13th August 2025 at Ado-Ekiti did obtained the sum of N13,800,000.00, from Kayode Wale David and Fakayo Motunrayo and converted the sum to their personal use.

Inspector Oriyomi said the offense committed is contrary to Section 295 and punishable under Section 302(1), 329(3) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister O. G. Abiola, urged the court to admit his clients to bail so that they will not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail of N2,000,000:00 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until January 22, 2026 for hearing.
