The police in Ekiti State have arraigned two persons, Ojo Awe (45) and Bello Taofeeq (30) at the Chief Magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged stealing of a cow and a pick-up vehicle.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on September 9 at about 1.35am at Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District, the defendants did have in their possession one live cow, one Ford Pickup vehicle affixed with plate number BDU632ZB reasonably suspected to have been stolen.
Inspector Oriyomi said the offence is punishable under Section 345 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.
Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Olusoji Oladele, urged the court to admit his client to bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum and evidence of tax payment.
The case was adjourned until October 28 for hearing.
