The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two men, Okunola Oluwafemi (30) and Ikejioba Femi Henry (30), before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged asault.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on February 22,, at about 12:30 am in Ado-Ekiti, the defendants conspired to unlawfully assault and obstruct one Akinpelu Henry while he was performing his lawful duties.
According to the prosecutor, the offences committed are punishable under Sections 421, 187(a), and 187(b) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defense counsel, Barrister Busuyi Ayorinde, urged the court to grant his clients bail, assuring the magistrate that the defendants would not jump bail.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each, with one surety in like sum.
The case has been adjourned until April 9, 2026, for hearing.
